Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 to Unify ERP and CRM in the Cloud

microsoft_cloud.jpgMicrosoft has announced its plans to launch Microsoft Dynamics 365.  The new cloud suite is set to fuel business growth via an affordable, easy way to move to the cloud, while setting a new benchmark for Salesforce and Oracle.

Due to launch in quarter four of this year, Dynamics 365 will combine the best of Microsoft’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) into one cloud service and include new purpose-built applications to help manage specific business functions.

Dynamics 365 will include financials, operations, field service, sales, marketing and customer service. The apps will work together seamlessly and can be deployed independently, allowing users to buy what they need when they need it.

In addition to ease of deployment and a buy as you grow model, the main benefit to businesses is the move from traditionally siloed systems to one common data model and business application platform.

Shared data with Office 365, combined with the intelligence of PowerBI and Cortana will simplify data management, integration across apps and business processes, while providing predictive insights and actionable next steps to achieve business goals.

On the impact for existing Dynamics users, Microsoft’s Jujhar Singh commented “Dynamics 365 has been very specifically and carefully designed to be a seamless transition for those customers using Dynamics CRM online or Dynamics AX online”.

In his blog, Singh also assured existing ‘non cloud’ users that the company will continue to innovate in and support on-premise solutions, and offer a migration path when customers are ready to move to the cloud.

At the same time, Microsoft announced the launch of AppSource, its online store where developers can build and distribute their own apps, giving businesses a complete solution. Microsoft AppSource is expected to open with over 200 apps developed by early adopters.
