Helphire Group plc was founded in 1992 and floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1997. Helphire’s main service is to members of the general public who have been involved in a car accident which was not their fault. Helphire removes the hassle of dealing with insurers’ repairers and arranging replacement car hire (of the same standard as that being repaired).
 
Helphire are one of the most successful companies in the South West and have grown dramatically – during the time that M4 Systems have been involved with them - from 450 staff to over 1700 staff, contributing to an annual turnover of £196 million (June 2006) – an increase on the previous year of 65%.
 
Helphire originally used Sage Line 100 for their main accounting system but then switched to Great Plains (now Microsoft Dynamics GP) accounting software in April 2001. Originally the system had been purchased from Tate Bramald (now part of Touchstone group).
 
Full use of the system’s potential capabilities had not been realised nor were Helphire satisfied with the service quality received from Tate Bramald. As a result they contacted M4 Systems in January 2003 and quickly decided to switch to M4 Systems for support and further system development.
 
Because of strict stock exchange reporting requirements, there was significant pressure on Helphire to resolve their accounting system issues before the year end of 31 March 2003.
 
In January 2003 M4 Systems signed Helphire as a customer after convincing them that they were the partner in whom they could have absolute confidence to get the system efficiently running within the tight deadline and to also provide them with quality ongoing support.
 
Not only did M4 Systems fulfil their promise to get the system properly up and running by the due date, but they have also continued to add significant value to Helphire’s original investment by helping to implement powerful capability, such as ReqLogic. This is a web-based requisitioning, expense reporting and workflow system seamlessly integrated to Microsoft GP, which dramatically improves productivity, accuracy and control by replacing manual paper based systems. ReqLogic automates the complete purchasing and expense reporting cycles, thereby improving efficiency as well as helping to reduce costs.
 
Having a proficient and highly effective back office system has put Helphire in a stronger competitive position. Automated processes generate considerable time-savings and improved data access and accuracy, which in turn lead to a more efficient service to suppliers and customers.
