Microsoft Dynamics GP Financial Management
The financial modules of Dynamics GP form the heart of the ERP system. Most of these modules are essential for the financial management of any organisation above 10 employees.
Dynamics GP has very powerful core financial management capability: a flexible General Ledger with up to 10 reporting dimensions plus Analytical Accounting with unlimited user defined dimensions. This combination enables rapid accurate management reporting by Company, Division, Department, Region, Product Group and more.

General Ledger
General Ledger is the heart of the Dynamics GP finance system. It's powerful, flexible and has up to 66 alphanumeric character codes, up to 10 segments and user-defined fields with 50 character descriptions. Other features are alias, statistical accounts, breakdown accounts, template journals, reversing journals, prior or future period journals, including automatic opening balance adjustment, recurring journals, 2 years open, 13th or 366th period availability, back-out journal and correcting journals. Easy to use enquiry tools and Excel-based budget creation wizard simplify your forecasting and budget planning. General Ledger
Multi-Currency Management
Designed for multinational operations to effortlessly manage financial statistics and accounting operations involving currencies and dealing with ever-changing exchange rates. For all transactions it tracks the original currency amount and the converted functional currency value. There are flexible revaluation options in Receivables, Payables and General Ledger. It includes automatic calculation and posting of currency exchange differences for receipts and payments; as well as projected revaluation effect reports and comprehensive historical reporting.

Receivables Management
Tracks customer related documents and information, controls cash, generates simple invoices as well as creates, prints and e-mails statements. Produces sophisticated debtor related reports at any point in time and performance reports including turnover, gross profit and payment days. Other features are flexible credit limits, unlimited addresses / contacts per customer, min / max payments and ability to handle insufficient funds, interest charges, debit / credit notes, returns, write-offs and auto-allocation. This module seamlessly integrates with Sales Order Processing and General Ledger.

Refund Cheques (Advanced Management edition only)
Adds functionality to Receivables Management, allowing credit balances to be cleared by issuing a refund cheque.
Payables Management
Controls expenditure and payments (cheque and BACS runs) with flexible selection criteria; also tracks supplier documents and information. Features include unlimited addresses / contacts per supplier, discounts, min / max payments, holds, returns, debit / credit notes, auto-allocation, performance and history reports. Offers seamless integration with Purchase Order Processing and General Ledger.

Analytical Accounting
New, powerful module which enables transactions to be tagged and reported by limitless, user-defined dimension codes - financial, date or statistical. Ideal for data which often change and which you do not want embedded in your 'Chart of Accounts', such as projects. Non-financial information can also be easily tracked and reported using Analytical Accounting relationships and trees. These can be set up between dimensions and attributes. Codes can be set to be either optional, required or fixed. Results in performance analysis by multiple dimensions.

Customer / Supplier Consolidation (Advanced Management edition only)
Enables documents in either Receivables or Payables to be very easily transferred to a corresponding account in the alternate ledger - resulting in a consolidated view of the relationship. It's particularly useful for inter-company accounts. Documents can be consolidated, then transferred en bloc or individually. Full drill-down is available to original related documents from transfer or consolidation documents.
Bank Reconciliation
Bank Reconciliation is a simple yet essential element of the Dynamics GP system to ensure complete financial control. It enables cash movements resulting from Payables Management and Receivables Management to be easily reconciled to cash movements as per your bank statements in a user-friendly interface. Basic cash book functionality is also provided. For more advanced cash book and reconciliation features the Cash Book Management module is required.
Bank Reconciliation
Cash Book Management (available for Advanced Management edition at additional cost)
Provides additional functionality to Bank Reconciliation. Payments or receipts can be entered directly within Cash Book and / or be captured automatically from Receivables Management and Payables Management. Incorporates multi-currency, VAT, unlimited number of accounts, account transfers, reconcile to bank statements for essential system verification and control. It also handles adjustments, interest, bank charges, Direct Debits and Standing Orders.
Electronic Reconciliation Management (available for Advanced Management edition at additional cost)
This module imports statements automatically from all major banks and seamlessly integrates to Cash Book to enable auto-reconciliation for 90% of documents, thus dramatically improving productivity of ledger clerks.
Cash Flow Management (Advanced Management edition only)
Uses an intuitive calendar-based interface to easily create cash flow forecasts based upon live data held in Cash Book Management, Receivables Management and Payables Management. Ability to view bank accounts and cash positions in summary or in detail. Numerous options and scenarios are included, such as posted or unposted transactions, Standing Orders, monthly costs, data from other systems, which bank accounts use due dates or average days experience, actual or input opening balances, 'what ifs', etc.

Caters for unlimited assets and all types of depreciation. Features numerous user-defined fields with graphical user interface as well as automatic depreciation routines. A powerful credit control module which assists with improving cash flow and reducing bad debts. Presents a centralised view of your customer and has a management facility to assign tasks to various credit control staff. Offers many automated features and tasks, including letters, e-mails and calendar. Excellent reporting and targeting facilities, plus follow-up prompting.
Collections Management
Revenue / Expense Deferrals (Advanced Management edition only)
Enables you to quickly and efficiently spread transactions which affect more than one period, such as an annual service invoice over the life of the transaction, to the appropriate periods and accounts within your General Ledger. Eliminates the tedious task of calculating, posting and reversing accruals and pre-payments, thereby improving accuracy of both Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statements.
National Accounts (Advanced Management edition only)
Enables Parent-Child Relationships to be set-up between customers. For example, for a Supermarket chain the Head Office could be the Parent with each individual Store as the Child. Enables cash to be processed on a 'group' basis.
Inter-Company Postings
Posts inter-company transactions effortlessly between multiple companies without having to log out of one company and into the other. During transaction entry a company code can be selected and GL codes from within that company can be 'looked up' and amounts posted. Two inter-company GL control accounts can be set up per inter-company relationship. These defaults help speed up transaction entry BUT they may be overridden at the transaction level. In other words, you do not have to use them if, for example, you have several inter-company control accounts per relationship.
Grant Management (Advanced Management edition only)
Tracks grants, demonstrates accountability and compliance and also assists with future funding applications. As grant transactions are entered, the Analytical Accounting module will automatically validate them against the budget. Affords real-time views of budget status and of grant transactions and allocations. Particularly useful in the public and Not for Profit domains.
