Marketing Lists
Successful marketing drives business growth. In order to ensure the success of marketing campaigns and future sales for your organisation, high quality Marketing lists of potential profitable customers are essential. Marketing Lists in Dynamics CRM 2011 are very easy to use and can be used for grouping leads, contacts or accounts.
There are three ways of creating Marketing lists in CRM 2011:
- Import marketing lists from Microsoft Excel
- Create an empty list and manually add records to it later, or
- filter existing data using the "Advanced Find" feature and save as a new list

In order to keep your marketing lists fresh, in CRM 2011 you can:
- merge marketing lists, or
- remove / add records to an existing marketing list
Dynamic Marketing Lists
A limitation of CRM 4.0 was the management of "Static" Marketing Lists where, by definition, to add or remove list members was a manual task using either Lookup or Advanced Find.
| CRM 2011 introduces "Dynamic" Marketing lists based on an "Advanced Find Query", with the members of the marketing list changing dynamically depending upon the query criteria. The marketing list is continually updated with accurate up to date data each time the query is run. For example, Marketing lists are created from Leads, Accounts and contacts within CRM 2011. Supposing the criteria for the query includes "city" = "London", if a member moves location to "Cardiff", once the query is run the member will automatically be removed from the marketing list. |

Once you have created your "Dynamic Marketing List" you can add this list to a Campaign or create a quick campaign for the members of the list.
